Western
Shore
It must have been less than one hundred days,
Since you left this shore,
But it seems like a lifetime,
A lifetime or maybe more,
So I go down to the Western shore,
And look across the sea,
And I hope for a Westerly wind,
To bring you safely back to me.
Long days, late nights and I'm too tired to sleep,
Too tired to laugh, too sad to weep,
And life takes turns that I just don't understand,
That’s when I miss your guiding hand,
So I go down to the Western shore,
And look across the sea,
And I hope for a Westerly wind,
To bring you safely back to me.
When the autumn rains come pouring down,
The days just drift on and on,
There's nothing clear or certain in my mind,
Except that you have gone,
So I go down to the Western shore,
And look across the sea,
And I hope for a Westerly wind,
To bring you safely back to me.
